Paracetamol
Paracetamol? Ist ein Schmerzmittel. Viele Schmerzpatienten glauben allerdings nicht an seine Wirkung. An irgendeine Wirkung. “Fieberzäpfchen für Kinder?” sagen sie ungläubig “das soll mir helfen?”
Aber Paracetamol wirkt. Manchmal wirkt es sogar tödlich.
Sie war Krankenschwester, jung, Anfang 20. Sie hatte Unterbauchschmerzen. Wie jeden Monat. Dagegen nahm sie eine Paracetamol-Tablette. Bald wurde ihr übel und schwindelig. Sie kollabierte, als der Notarzt an der Tür klingelte. Bevor Sie das Bewußtsein verlor, konnte sie noch erklären. Der Blutdruck sackte ab. Anaphylaktischer Schock. Beatmung, Herzdruckmassage, Katecholamine, Kortison. Von ihrer Wohnungstür bis zur Ambulanz. Sie war so instabil, daß die Reanimation im RTW fortgeführt wurde. Fast drei Stunden lang. Erfolglos. Sie starb am späten Nachmittag, vier Stunden nach der Paracetamol-Einnahme.
Was sie dem Notarzt erklärt hatte? Daß sie allergisch gegen Paracetamol war. Das stand sogar in ihrem Allergieausweis. Vor ein paar Monaten war es ihr schon mal so ähnlich gegangen, nach einer Paracetamol. Da hatte sie es testen lassen. Hatte sie gehofft, die Tablette trotzdem gut zu vertragen?
Seither verordnet der Arzt Medikamente noch ein bisschen zurückhaltender.

Antipsychotics were protective against all-cause mortality versus no antipsychotic use, with largest effects for second-generation long-acting injectable anti-psychotics, clozapine, any LAI, and any SGA. Antipsychotics were also protective against natural cause-related mortality, yet first-generation antipsychotics (FGAs) were associated with increased mortality due to suicide and natural cause in incident schizophrenia. These results indicate that the excess mortality in schizophrenia is associated with several modifiable factors. Targeting comorbid substance abuse, long-term maintenance antipsychotic treatment and appropriate/earlier use of SGA-LAIs and clozapine could reduce this mortality gap.
